New and Forthcoming Publications
As part of its work on the Knowledge Application Program (KAP) Project for the Center for Mental Health Services and Westat, HIRI studied discharge planning and cognitive impairments as they affect services for people who are homeless. Two scientific articles will be published as a result of this work:
Backer, T.E., Howard, E.A., & Moran, G.E. (in press). The role of effective discharge planning in preventing homelessness. Journal of Primary Prevention (Special Issue on Prevention of Homelessness).
Backer, T.E., & Howard, E.A. (in press). Cognitive impairments and the prevention of homelessness. Journal of Primary Prevention (Special Issue on Prevention of Homelessness).
These articles also will be translated into Issue Briefs targeted to professionals in the mental health, substance abuse and homelessness fields; and to consumers, parents and the public at large seeking information on these topics.
